Akbash Dogs. Photo of Cuneyt with a bitch and pups, c. 1966. Such white dogs were popular around Izmir as well as in Central Turkey. Certificate from the Turkish government Kangal Dog breeding Center
A Kangal pup in Turkey The headline says: One Elephant for Two Kangal Dogs! A cultural trade with India, one National Treasure for another! Personally, I think the Indians got the better deal! Sali, 22 Sept 1998.
BTW the article refers to the pups as Kangal kopegi and Sivas Kangal yavrugu (Kangal dogs, Sivas Kangal pups). You will  never see a spotted or black or brindled or long-haired dog being called a Kangal Dog in the Turkish media. That's because they're not.
The teeth of a renowned wolf-slayer! A proud Sivas villager with his favorite Kangal bitch. He clearly doted on this dog, and the others were teasing him about it. Cute!
Tazi Kangal cross Pasha as a pup, enjoying his barley mash (a staple of Kangal Dog nutrition in turkey) with his sire.
Mr. Sonmez, breeder of Pasha in a very remote Kangal village.
